Main Storylines to Watch

How does this Rams offensive line hold up against the Eagles’ defense? The Rams have surprised many with their effectiveness on offense despite coming into the year starting many names unknown to the average fan. The Rams’ offensive line has let up nine sacks through the first four games. The running game has been pretty inefficient as well averaging below three yards per carry. The Eagles’ defensive line has been a bright spot for their defense. If they can dominate the Rams’ offensive line, it will be a long day for this Rams offense.

How does the Eagles’ secondary hold up against these Rams wide receivers? Through four weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles have been a top-five matchup for opposing wide receivers. They experimented with James Bradberry at slot, but the Eagles added veteran slot corner Bradley Roby during the past week. With Cooper Kupp expected to return, the secondary will have its hands full as Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell have shined in their increased roles.

Main Storylines to Watch

Can the Eagles and Jalen Hurts get revenge on their 2022 loss to the Commanders? Jalen Hurts has won 20 out of the last 21 games when starting in the regular season. That one loss came in their home contest last season against the Commanders. The Eagles will look to rebound against the Commanders and stay undefeated on the year.

Where do the Commanders belong in the league hierarchy? The Commanders opened this year with all sunshine and rainbows beating the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos. Despite the Cardinals’ win over Dallas last week, both of these teams are bottom five in the league. The first real test the Commanders faced, they got absolutely destroyed at home. Seeing how the Commanders respond against their divisional rival will be very telling for how we treat this team for the rest of the season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0) are at home to host the Philadelphia Eagles (2-0) on one of the two Monday night matchups for Week 3. Both teams are coming into this game undefeated. The Buccaneers have impressed so far without Hall of Fame QB Tom Brady. Despite the 2-0 record, the Eagles have looked sloppy on offense.

Main Storylines to Watch

Are the Buccaneers good or are the Vikings and Bears just bad? Many football experts expected this to be a rebuilding year for the Bucs after Tom Brady retired. Baker Mayfield and this Buccaneers team seem to have ignored those experts. After starting 2-0, this Bucs team has their eyes set on winning their division and not chasing after Caleb Williams or whoever else ends up being a highly drafted QB in the 2024 NFL draft.

Will Jalen Hurts look like 2022 Hurts or 2021 Hurts? After the 2021 season, the Philadelphia Eagles were still wondering what their QB situation would look like for the years to come. Hurts was okay in 2021 and borderline-elite in 2022. He was a major reason this Eagles team made it to the Super Bowl. The passing game thus far looks more like the 2021 version of Hurts, but they recently had a mini-bye week to try and get things back on track.

Week 2 of the NFL season starts on Thursday Night with the Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) hosting the Minnesota Vikings (0-1). The Eagles’ offense is looking to improve on their sloppy Week 1 performance. The Vikings are hoping to respond after the Week 1 upset loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Writer’s Record
Leans: 0-4 down 4u
Bets: 2-2 up 0.25u

Main Storylines to Watch

How do the Vikings respond after their Week 1 upset loss? The Vikings went into Week 1 as favorites but lost the turnover battle three to zero leading to the loss. The Vikings go into Week 2 with a banged-up offensive line against one of the best defensive lines in the league. In order to pull off this upset, the Vikings have to take care of the ball and be more efficient in the ground game compared to Week 1.

Will the Eagles’ so-called explosive offense show their might in their home opener? The Eagles opened their Week 1 matchup against the Patriots with a 16-0 lead and cruised the whole second half to hold on to win 25-20. The Eagles defense scored once and the Hurts had a passing touchdown to DeVonta Smith after the defense gave them a short field. One offensive touchdown is not what fantasy owners expected from this explosive squad.

Eagles(-205) @ Patriots(+170): O/U 45.0
Eagles -4.0 (-110), Patriots +4.0(-110)

The New England Patriots open their season at home as underdogs against the Philadelphia Eagles on a day they are honoring ex-Patriots’ QB Tom Brady. The Eagles look to get off to a fast start this year after losing in the Super Bowl in the previous season. The Patriots hope to honor Brady well and win one as revenge for the Eagles win over Brady in the Super Bowl LII.

Main Storylines to Watch

How does the Patriots’ offense improve from 2022? Bill O’Brien took over the offensive coordinator for the Patriots in 2023. Mac Jones looked like he regressed in his second year as a starter under the previous offensive coaching staff. If Bill O’Brien can continue to develop Jones, it could open up the pass game and allow the running game more rushing lanes as defenses have to respect the pass.

Will any Eagles running back stand out from the crowd? The Eagles are projected to be a top-tier offense in the NFL this year. The passing game is pretty set. Fantasy owners will start Jalen Hurts at QB, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith at WR, and Dallas Goedert at TE. The running back room has good talent, but it is very hard to predict who will be the leader in the room. With the Eagles projected as an explosive offense, the running back position could be very valuable if someone earns a consistent role.
