A trend from last week will continue this week as the waning days of summer have brought cooler weather. Those 95-degree-and-high-humidity days that were excellent for hitting environments are fading away. We’re still warmer (thus better) than we saw back in the April and May games but the peak hitting weather has ended. Rain should not be a big factor early this week, but rain chances will increase at several MLB parks during the upcoming weekend series, especially in Minneapolis, Washington, Philadelphia, New York and Boston.

Targets: This Week’s Best Hitting Environments

• Cleveland at Kansas City (Monday and Tuesday’s games; at about 80 degrees these will be among the warmest MLB games this week… although Kauffman is not traditionally a great hitting ballpark)
• Philadelphia at Atlanta (Wednesday afternoon’s game; temps near 80 degrees)
• Pittsburgh at Cincinnati (Friday-Sunday; temps near 80 for all three games with no rain expected)
